A website needs to do more than look attractive. It needs to explain the service clearly, help potential customers find it and give them a straightforward way to take the next step.
For my own wellbeing business, I developed its online presence to support local visibility and introduce its services to prospective customers.
This was a hands-on project for a business I own, rather than a client engagement. It brought together website development, content and local search visibility.
The challenge: helping local customers find the business
The objective was to establish an online presence that connected the business with people searching for its services in the local area.
That meant considering both the customer and the search journey: what someone would be looking for, what they would need to understand about the service and how the website could help them make an informed enquiry.
The focus was on making the business easy to find and its offering easy to understand.
My role: bringing the website and business message together
I took ownership of developing the business’s online presence, connecting the website with the services offered and the area served.
The work combined:
- Website development and presentation.
- Clear descriptions of the business and its services.
- Content relevant to prospective local customers.
- A focus on visibility for relevant local searches.
Rather than treating the website as a separate technical task, I approached it as part of the business: a practical way to communicate the offer and support customer enquiries.
The outcome: prominent visibility in local search
In a recent Google search check for the service and its local area, eight results associated with the business appeared across the first page.
That observation provides a useful example of the visibility achieved for that particular search. It is not presented as a permanent ranking, a result for every searcher or a guarantee of enquiries.
The project demonstrates my ability to combine practical website work with a clear business message and a focus on local discoverability.
What this means for smaller businesses
For a local business, website content and technical delivery need to work towards the same objective: helping the right people find and understand the service.
Through VitaAssist Consulting, I bring that practical approach to website development, content organisation and local search visibility—helping businesses create an online presence that supports their wider goals.
